No Bourbon 24-Hour Feed
No official Bourbon County jail release list covers the last 24 hours. The detention center, sheriff, and county sites offer no released tab, archive, app, or same-day report. The only official online jail list is the Cadmus current-inmate portal. The jail describes that tool as a source for charges and bond information about a current detainee. It does not promise release dates, release reasons, destinations, or past bookings.
The portal also failed during the research review. Even when it loads, presence can help rule in current local custody, but absence has no defined meaning. A release, move to another jail, transfer to Kentucky DOC, correction, or technical failure can produce the same visible result. Bourbon County's mixed local, state, city, and regional population makes that distinction vital.
Check Bourbon Same-Day Releases
Use a released-first sequence. The task is to establish the end of a specific Bourbon County Regional Detention Center booking, not to subtract two roster snapshots. Start with enough identifying detail to separate people who share a name. Then preserve the wording supplied by the custodian.
- Check the current portal. If the person remains listed, treat that as current local custody subject to feed timing.
- Call the Bourbon County Regional Detention Center at 859-987-2137. Give the full name, date of birth or age, and approximate booking date.
- Ask whether the booking ended within the exact 24-hour period, the actual exit time, the recorded disposition, and any receiving agency.
- Check Kentucky VINE for the same person and facility. A not-in-custody result may show a release date, but a surprising result still needs source confirmation.
- Follow the committing county's court record for the bond, dismissal, probation, sentence, or other order that authorized the move.
Resolve identity before resolving status. Bourbon's jail record, VINE entry, court file, and any KOOL result should agree on more than a name. Compare date of birth or age, booking date, booking or DOC number, charging county, and case number where available. A VINE event can concern another facility or an earlier custody episode, while a person with the same name can appear in an unrelated court case. If those identifiers conflict, the responsible conclusion is that the same-day event remains unverified. Record the exact wording and access time from each source instead of blending several screens into one apparently certain answer.
When a name appeared yesterday but is absent today, save the portal URL and observation times, then ask the jail the four questions that the roster cannot answer: did this booking end, when was the actual exit, what disposition was entered, and did another agency receive the person? If staff confirms bond, obtain the charging county's bond or release order; do not report the displayed bond amount as the amount paid unless a record says so. If staff confirms transfer, follow the named recipient. Until that distinction is documented, accurate wording is limited to “not shown on the Bourbon current-inmate portal as of” the recorded time.

Bourbon 24-Hour Record Fields
Because no public feed exists, the table describes fields to request from an existing jail release record or log. Not every field must exist or be public. An open-records request asks for records already kept; it does not require the jail to create a new explanation or custom report.

Request the exact code legend when a release type is abbreviated. Preserve both the original entry and its verified meaning. Codes from another jail should never be used to decode a Bourbon record.
The event label matters as much as the time. Bond release means the jail completed release after applicable conditions and holds were addressed; a bond listing alone does not establish that event. Recognizance is a court-authorized nonfinancial release. Time served records satisfaction of the credited term in connection with the controlling order. Shock probation, ordinary probation, parole, and mandatory reentry supervision are distinct legal outcomes and should retain their exact labels. Escape, death, medical movement, and transfer may end a roster appearance, but they are not interchangeable with community release.
Request Bourbon Release Logs
Kentucky's Open Records Act permits a written request by hand, mail, fax, or email. Bourbon County Regional Detention Center has no published release-record form, fee schedule, dedicated custodian page, or records counter hours. Define the period with exact start and end timestamps. Ask for an existing release log or booking records whose actual release timestamp falls within that range. Useful fields include name, booking number, actual release date and time, disposition, releasing authority, and destination or receiving agency. Request electronic native-format delivery and a fee estimate. Under KRS 61.872, the general response period is five business days. If the jail does not keep a responsive list, it need not create one.
Bourbon Bond Is Not Release
The official current portal may show charges and a bond amount. That amount identifies a possible release mechanism, not a completed release. It does not prove payment, acceptance, clearance of every hold, or the time jail staff finished processing. Confirm the actual event through the jail's release record and the controlling court order.
A Bourbon County case may support release through bond, recognizance, dismissal, probation, shock probation, time served, or sentence completion. Yet the regional jail also holds people for Harrison, Nicholas, Pendleton, and other authorities. Use the committing agency and case number to locate the right clerk. Bourbon Roster Data Can Mislead
Bourbon's only official web list is expressly for current inmates. No refresh cadence or post-release retention period is published, and the interface failed during research. Comparing a saved list from yesterday with today's list can identify a change, but it cannot classify that change. A technical outage looks much like a cleared roster entry to an outside observer.

Those roles reinforce why a roster removal may represent movement inside a larger correctional process. The record must identify whether the person entered the community or remained under another custodian.
Bourbon Release or Transfer
A person released on bond or after a completed local sentence may enter the community. A person transferred to Kentucky DOC, another county, the United States Marshals Service, or ICE has left Bourbon's physical custody but remains confined. Search KOOL when state status is plausible. An Active Inmate result with a new location supports continued state custody; Parole or Probation with supervision dates describes community supervision, not an active jail stay.

Federal and immigration movements require their own checks. A person moved by the United States Marshals Service may leave Bourbon without entering the BOP sentenced-prisoner system at once. A documented immigration handoff should be checked promptly through ICE's locator. In either case, report the result narrowly: release from Bourbon custody does not establish release from every authority.
That narrow reporting rule also applies to Kentucky systems. KOOL is not a Bourbon booking archive, and a short-stay county detainee who never entered state custody or supervision may never appear there. Conversely, a state prisoner housed temporarily at the regional jail may disappear locally yet remain an Active Inmate at another location. KOOL warns that newer offender data may not be finalized, while VINE depends on source feeds. The jail's contemporaneous release or transfer entry therefore carries the most weight for the physical movement; the signed court order establishes legal authority, and the receiving custodian establishes whether confinement continued.
